from a dream.....

Sigmund Freud offered many theories on the repression of the human mind which had led to many unbecoming, or becoming of a person. Anger, rage, frustrations and the traumatic events were all pushed back from their consciousness

One which greatly interest me was the Oedipus complex, where individuals were erotically attached to their parent of the opposite sex and were hostile to the parent of the same sex. Oedipal desires are thought to remain heavily repressed and unconscious in the minds of all functioning adults --> Are you?

We were thought to instinctively love our old chaps who begot us. While we do, many turns of events may rise to challenge the Oedipus complex. Adolescence for one may instead, create an anti-Oedipal syndrome. The adolescence period is the most volatile for many and the rebellious nature of teens to challenge and go against both set of parents might just create that loophole on Freud's theory. Then again, maybe not, since he said that that complex may be repressed *yer* unknowingly.

And we hear many a times that we will in the end, grow up to resemble our father/mother and marry someone who resembles our mother/father.

I think its time for a rebellion now. I have none the intention to recreate the family scene I had lived with for the past 21 years. Time for a change.

a face among the faceless

la photographia

an abstract of the vague

  1. I hate hearts
  2. I hate the sun
  3. I hate the hair at the mo
  4. I hate airbags
  5. I hate roses
  6. I hate being awake
  7. I hate confined spaces
  8. I hate helminths
  9. I hate the pristine properness and rigidity
  10. And I frigging hate that Twilight Edward fella! Vampires, as I told my sis, are meant to be devious, cunning yet suave and sexy. And our pretty boy is none of the above. Bo-ring.

And so, what I want for xmas though not being a Christian is more pretty lights and silent people beside me, just sitting there hearing the pitter patter of rain or playing with the wind somewhere amidst the 'clinking' of glasses. (=

Well, that's the you know, my inner desires. I, like most human too, have material wishes. Like more more more dresses and heels and if I could, the entire Borders or a bar of my own or an igloo of icecream and a factory of chocolates? Mebbe a pig-farm to add alongside with many Marmalade-ish cafes?

And those whom I had let into my head would know I dont have ONE dream house, but THREE. *grins* Greed is a strong motivator. And I wonder wonder, why turkey on Christmas? Why not roast pork? Or beef? Or lamb? And mince pies? I used to think they were savoury pies. I was wrong. Damn, now me hungry.

I no longer love Christmas..... )=

work vs study:

in the workforce, no employer recognizes semester break or mid term holiday. the only break you can get are leaves. and there is a certain amount of quota to that. |=

working does not permit you to sleep on your desk. it is nothing like lecture halls where you can snores and the lecturer can only give you the stink-eye.

exams are so not fun nor supps are funny in the life of a student. then again, we have deadlines and office politics in the working field.

we get paid to work while we pay to study. and suddenly, being one of the last to graduate aint a bad thing after all. *grins*

feist vs sugar:

yes, sweet cuddly lil pooch do win all hearts. but i think i like mine with a lil feist and grrr... for i am never a believer that the good and kindred spirit wins at the end of the day. i think it takes more than a virgin soul to survive in this harsh reality.

and so i like my chocolate dark; cause its bitter and sweet.

i like my wine red. a fuller body that the feminine whites.

i like sharper edges over the smooth curve.

because i like them all, i made me an idealism.

peeves vs pets:

i try my best to reply my messages (not mails tho). and hence the otherwise irks me so.

double stardardism is standard all over the world. yet i hate the fact that i cannot fully disapprove of it without challengin myself to stop being a hypocrite. (=

porks, chocos and alcohols are my pets.

flowers and pink are my peeves. unless the flower is rooted in the garden, i think i'll pass on them. and pink... i never really believe pink is the new black. black will always be THE black. *grins*

suddenly, the air is full of grumps and frowns. but i have my m&m's and jose to calm me. talking nonsense and coffee book sessions is just as smiley as the cloudy sunshineless day.

just the way i like it..

*especially for det, keanguan, darray and takyee and vini hopefully*

to squint at sunshine at 7 in the morn is a miracle

to walk with the many footsteps when dreams are luring you with their claws, it is unimaginable

but i suppose to familiar spring in my wan tan mee is rewarding enough

just like the zest in my kakak ping

and i am back home in my gloom of a rabbit hole i call home

the town is raining, the lake is filled, the swans are gliding and the air is sweet! more the reason to come to taiping all you city folks!

no jam, no hassle. you can have a yamcha session at 9 and still leave your house at 8.45. no worries. you proly reach just in time (=

so what other bait will i lay out to lure people to my sleepy hometown to cure my insensitive boredom? food works. like, all the time? *grins*

if there is a yut kee in kl selling hainanese porkchop and roti babi, there is a yut sun in taiping selling hainanese chicken chop and roti sayur. i am not kidding! the chocolate tart and strawberry pastry are the sins that pile up the kilograms round here. {= *take note sher and yee*

next next is my fav wan tan mee stall in prima. the most expensive wan tan mee around (rm2.60) though my mom and few others argued the one above the market is the best. well, personal preference will be my defense.

of course, what is life without the essence of pork innit? you know kean guan, the pork porridge ere comes with a lot lot more side dish? *grins* and the store beside beside sells yummylicious chee cheong fun in the morning? yes darray, its like the chee cheong fun you had in segamat.

*its fun tempting friends and knowing they will go "damn you hui mei, D-A-M-N!" *

hurmms.. i suppose peace hotel and peng aun's duck rice are almost the same-o same-o. then pokok assam's nasi lemak and assam laksa. *puts on list for tomorrow's breakfast*

what elses is there in taiping? oh yeah! the cendol. considering im not a fan of cendol 'cept for socializing purposes, i shall say the one opp St george is ze best, as voted by most of me mates. and now that we're in that area, i suppose it wont harm to mention 'kam pin' me like the curry mee and 'tan cha' there! though its a long way from penang curry mee still *grins*

then there's the famous popiah, not-too-bad char koay teow, and a good selection and ice mountain in central market. many many more. i realized this blog lacks picture.

guess what? i just have a new mission. tomorrow, im gonna wake real early for a morning walk in lake gardens. after that, im gonna go round taking pictures of the places i mentioned. lepas tu, i'll see you fellas on monday k?

-here's some antacids while waiting-
love you fellas too!

i love them pretty lights...

For one more day,
I'll wait for that one more ride
Down the tree lined autobahn
When I can once more make the mist.

For one more day,
And for many more days to come,
I can hear them singing a story
Written on it a life.

The sun has set,
The radio is humming,
I can hear a tune and a laughter
I can hear the chimes of many bells,
And yes,
I have waited for that one more day.

"We're never so vulnerable when we trust someone; but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy."

Walter Anderson

The world and its many enigmas. Aren't our society a quaint one? How hard is it to trust? Very, actually, considering I myself am guilty for that social flaw. Or is it a flaw? Being a being who is unable to trust wit that snap of a finger and wisp of a smile?

Many learn their lessons on skepticism through the hard ways. Some got off easy. The rest? Perhaps they think its just cool to mutter "I don't trust easily" with that brooded look and hair sashaying in their face. But yes, survival requires us to breed some distrust and the ability to cast doubt once in a while; considering the world today is filled with bad bad people.

(bad is such a teensy weeny understatement. honest)

"But my daddy told me not to say something to strangers!"

Nonetheless, I might have a theory or two about such people who are shadowed by their own distrust. Mebbe....
  1. ... some Sakai once lied to them as a child, saying it rain chocolate syrup every Friday.
  2. ... some Mommies let them watch "It" too many a times that they believe the world is a scary place
  3. or mebbe, some of them just never experienced trust.
(stop looking at me. I am theorizing, not relating my own story into this virtual page for public viewing kays? ishk! )

Henceforth, to be someone who stinge on trust issues, is actually quite a burdenful job. As quoted, we miss out a lot of things just to protect the comfort zone in which we stood steadfastly. To risk and to venture is not out of question, it's just uncomfortable for many. (=
